ABOUT

My name is Colleen and I am a farmer’s wife. I have been living on Saligna Farm in Bergville since 1986. I am married to Peter Buchanan, who is a third generation farmer on this farm. We farm with maize, soya beans, wheat and peas as well as beef.

I am very passionate about gardening, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.

I decided to convert our three extra houses into holiday accommodation a few years ago after my family and friends suggest I do so as they all so enjoy coming here.

I have 3 beautiful homes, each in their own private garden with their own swimming pools. Each home is fully equipped with everything you would need to make your stay perfect. All beds are comfortable and have beautiful white percale linen.

This is a wonderful gem of a place mid way between Johannesburg and Durban. The place is serene, has amazing views, spacious and extremely child friendly. Our 2 year old loved the space to play, swing and slide fittings in the garden. An amazing place to wind down away from the city. Colleen was an amazing host. We will definitely be back here.

These guys make the best pizzas – freshly made to order in a wood-burning oven using a closely guarded family recipe. They also offer a range of other delicious foods, including pastas, tramezzinis, salads and lamb chops.

Ride the Grotto Trail on your Mountain Bike

The Grotto Trail is the highlight of the 100km track that makes up the Drakensberg MTB Trails system. As the riding is technical, a good level of fitness and expertise is required.
A number of other trails are also available for beginners and intermediate riders
